Bellydancer in the Afternoon, Jackalope, Santa Fe

June 7, 2009

Liz took me to Jackalope today for an outdoor bellydancer performance.  It was a lot of fun.  Photography was tough due to extreme contrast in sunshine and shade in the performance area.  I shot mostly black and white as a consquence (which is unfortunate because the 4 dancers costumes were exquisite).  Anyway, here’s an image:

From the Archives…

May 31, 2009

In redesigning my main website, I’ve spent a great deal of time looking through images over the last 2-years that I’ve never done anything with before.  Here are three images from Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque.

Rio Rancho Car Show…

April 26, 2009

I tested out some new gear that my good friend Adam recently convinced me to try at a car show on Saturday.  Canon 5D with 24-105L f4 lens.  Here are some quick picks of that show (mostly processed in my grunge style):

Desert Dog Photography no more…

April 18, 2009

As you may be able to tell, I’ve not been updating this site anymore. I’ve also taken DesertDogPhotography.com offline. I’ve simply lost interest in my hobby (or at least in the “business” part of photography). I will still take pictures, and occasionally share them on my blog. But I will no longer attempt to market of sell anything. That removed the joy of the process for me. At the end of the day, I only which to experience the beauty of the world in our travels, capture a sliver of that beauty in a photograph to the best of my ability, and share that vision with my family and friends.

One from the Weekend…

July 31, 2008

Liz and I spent an exceptionally rainy weekend in the mountains of Colorado.  I do have a few good images, but I need more time to process them (joining the list of hundreds over the past year… I guess I can’t motivate to spend much time in front of the computer lately).  Anyway, I thought this was sort of a cool image of pine trees.
